Plesner establishes new Digital, Tech and Commercial team
Plesner is therefore bringing together its existing Tech, Data Protection and Commercial Contracts teams in one Digital, Tech and Commercial team.
The new team brings together specialists across commercial contracts, technology and IT contracts, data protection and wider data regulation, AI, cyber and information security, defence and national security, export controls and sanctions.
"Clients are operating in an increasingly complex environment. Technology, regulation and contractual matters are becoming more closely connected, and legal issues increasingly cut across traditional areas of expertise. By bringing our capabilities together, we make it easier for clients to access the right specialists and multidisciplinary expertise for their most important and complex matters," says partner Jacob Ørskov Rasmussen.
Deep expertise across interconnected areas
New technologies create commercial opportunities, but also new contractual, regulatory and data-related challenges. Addressing them increasingly requires an understanding of how different issues interact – and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions, processes and governance that support the client's business.
“Deep specialist expertise remains fundamental to our advice. But delivering the highest-quality advice increasingly also requires an understanding of how different regulatory regimes and legal disciplines interact. By bringing our capabilities together, we build on our strong specialist practices while creating an even stronger multidisciplinary environment,” says partner Bodil Maria Hald.
Integrated advice from strategy to implementation
By combining specialist legal expertise with technological understanding and insight into clients’ markets and commercial priorities, the team can support clients from initial strategic, commercial and regulatory considerations through contracts, implementation, governance and ongoing compliance.
"We see clients increasingly looking for advisers who understand both their business and the regulatory and digital developments affecting it. Bringing these capabilities together gives us an even stronger platform for supporting our clients’ strategic and commercial objectives. Our aim is to develop robust legal solutions that create value for our clients," says partner Michael Hur Bertelsen.
